(1 P 2,4-9): Coming to Him who is the living stone, rejected indeed by men but in God's sight chosen and precious, Ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. It is contained in Scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth in him, certainly not disappointed. So you who believe, hi! And for those who do not believe, the stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone - and the stone of stumbling and rock of offense. Those who disobey the word, fail, indeed, to which they are destined. You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people [God] made his own, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
